Kiri is a gentle little soul, one of those kittens who seem to have stepped out of a quiet, delicate novel. We’ve known her for quite some time now, yet she still prefers staying under the shelter roofs at feeding time, keeping a cautious distance from both the volunteers and the other cats.🐱🫶🏻
She’s incredibly shy and scared—fearful of interactions, even though she’s been surrounded only by care and kindness. But there’s something truly magical about Kiri, something that touches our hearts every time we see her. When we arrive with food, she hides… but then, almost afraid of being forgotten, she starts meowing softly, as if saying: “Hey, I’m here… don’t forget about me.”
And how could we ever? Kiri is endlessly sweet. Despite her fears, that small gentle voice always reaches us, reminding us that even those who need more time deserve the same love and respect.😻❤️
She has chosen a very special place to call her own: the scaffolding of the San Domenico Museum. And so, half-jokingly but lovingly, we’ve come to call her the literary kitten — a feline intellectual, always surrounded by art and culture.📚🐾
Every day, with patience and care, we try to show her that our feeding station is a safe haven, a place where no harm will ever come to her. We speak to her gently, give her space, and every quiet meow feels like a small step toward earned trust.
Maybe one day, Kiri will decide she can finally let her guard down… and who knows, maybe even accept a few bonus cuddles.
Until then, we’ll be here, waiting, with open hearts and full bowls. 🐾💛
